Trent Austin, I hope you will take a look at this blind test where trumpet players
were blindfolded and asked to decide if the Lefreque was attached to their instrument or not. You don't have to understand the statistical analysis to appreciate the raw results, which are given in column 6 of Table 2. Five players did 20 trials each, and none of them could reliably tell if the Lefreque was attached or not! Notice especially the musician M3, a professional symphonic player who uses a gold Lefreque every day. This player correctly judged if the Lefreque was attached or not in only 8 out of 20 trials, even worse than if they were just guessing randomly.
